The MAFC Hawks were the second U10 to reach the Cup Finals this season. The Hawks were up against Fleet Town Colt Lions who come across to the NEHYL from the Surrey League.

This was the Hawks second season, and first cup final. There journey through the cup was extraordinary and they deserved to be in this final.

The Hawks held the possession throughout the first half and had the majority of opportunities at Fleet goal, but unable to connect with the ball to finish it off. The Hawks went into the second half at 0-0 and had a slow start to the second half, and Fleet took this opportunity to sneak one into the right hand corner of the Hawks net and going 1-0 up.

The Hawks again went on the attack and again created many further chances at the Fleet goal. The whistle went and the final score was 1-0.

Although the Hawks were defeated by the score, the truth is that they were the true champions and I bet the Fleets Manager, Players and their parents were glad that the whistle went.

The Hawks were outstanding and the journey that they have had since they formed in 2014 is incredible. The Hawks are always competing against teams that have been going for several seasons, and let us remember that they beat two teams in leagues above them to reach this cup final.

Myself, Mark and the parents are so proud of our boys, and the Hawks sportsmanship to fair play should also be acknowledged. The Hawks did not let us down, they showed us they are the future of MAFC and we await our next cup final very soon.

Well done Hawks.
