It was with relief that as kick off approached the rain finally let up and Chris Douglas (referee) was pleased for the game to go ahead.

Both teams impeccably observed a two minutes silence in remembrance for those who gave their today so we could have our tomorrow.

What followed was an excellent game of football from both teams who demonstrated all that is good in the way the game should be played.

Mytchett were under pressure very early but the three man defence were on top of the oppositions attack with Tobi Daniels in the Mytchett goal having a relatively quiet day and showing excellent handling and domination in the area when called upon.

At half time the game was scoreless and Nick Bell (Manager) made a change up top which quickly showed it’s reward in the second half with Liam Henchy scoring to put Mytchett 1-0 up.

This really opened the game up with both teams making chances and solid defending from both teams kept the score to 1-0.

An excellent result against a good team and many positives from the Mytchett side including:

Liam Henchy scored a goal and completed the game without getting booked.

Praise to Ryan Lunn, Dan Spooner, Dan Redmond and Tim Manson for a superb defensive performance.

A deserved clean sheet for keeper Tobi Daniels.
